QUARTZ

Composed of roughly 95% natural ground quartz and 5% polymers, pigments and resins, quartz is usually referred to as an engineered stone. The manufacturing process makes it the easiest to clean and care for, while also the most resistant to lasting damage or wear and tear. Quartz is a nonporous material, so it does not need to be resealed. It can be mixed with various pigments, offering a larger more consistent variety of colors and designs. Some designs can mimic natural marble and the consistency of color and pattern allows for a uniform look where seams in the stone are required. Color can alter in direct sunlight under UV radiation, so it is not recommended for outdoor installations.
